After Brian Kim started the Frames of Light Collective for creatives at his church, a core group of members met in May 2025 to break down ideas for FLC’s first short film. Eventually, a script for An Important Date was completed, locations and a cinematographer was secured, auditions were held and Brian took the opportunity to direct his first short film. Production took place over just two days in December 2025 and post-production was completed in February 2026.

Summary of An Important Date

Samuel is blind to the reality that his little girl, Jessie, is now a teen. A sweet yet awkward father-daughter date and Samuel's internalized feelings lead to him hurting Jessie's feelings when she needs him most. He must make amends with his daughter so he doesn't miss another important date with her.
